Welcome to Tan y Llan Self Catering Cottage, West Wales
Our two bedroom chalet-bungalow is situated at Penbryn, close to the West Wales coast about ten miles North of Cardigan. Literally translated, Tan Y Llan means "Beneath the Church". It is set in two-thirds of an acre of gently sloping gardens, adjoining a small stream and woods, totally peaceful and secluded. There is a south-facing patio in natural stone where you can sit out and enjoy the tranquillity of this beautiful area.
The Locality
The National Trust owns much of the land round and about the holiday chalet, including the spectacular, mostly sandy, beach which is only five minutes walk away through the woods or ten minutes by road. (There is no charge for access to the beach on foot.) The area is largely unspoiled and consists primarily of small, farming communities with inter-connecting lanes. There are many beaches with a coastal path running between them. Not all of the beaches allow dogs in the summer and this includes Penbryn beach, but some of the nearby ones are fine for dog walking. There are many family attractions of historical interest, as well as pursuits such as walking, riding, and boat trips available in the area.
